Obituary for Carol Ann Granski
Warren, NJ – Carol Ann (Zukoski) Granski died peacefully at her home on June 26, 2018. Carol was born to the late Walter Zukoski and Lucille (Rolande) Zukoski. She spent her childhood years residing in North Plainfield and her married life in Plainfield and South Plainfield. Later, she moved to Edison and, then, in 2016, to Warren.
Carol obtained her degree as a registered nurse from Muhlenberg School of Nursing in Plainfield, NJ, and, then, for a career commencing in 1959 and spanning five decades, practiced nursing at Muhlenberg Hospital, primarily in the operating room. Carol loved nursing and it was a defining part of her life.
Carol always enjoyed an adventure and dubbed herself a “world traveler”. She found her way to Russia, Turkey, Egypt, Italy and other European countries, Hawaii, and throughout the Caribbean, among other destinations, with her husband, Ed, and, after his death in 1994, with her dear friend, Toni Petrona Diaz. Italy was Carol’s favorite destination -- she couldn’t hide her excitement upon learning that her granddaughter, Samantha, would spend her honeymoon in Florence earlier this year.
Carol is predeceased by her husband and the love of her life, Edmund Walter Granski, as well as by her two siblings, George and Johanna (Joan). She leaves her loving children, Edmund, Jr., Paul (married to Angela), and Susan (Granski) Pietschker (married to Scott), and her cherished grandchildren, Samantha, Megan, Matthew, Julia, Jessica, Scott, Jr., Andrew, and Logan.
