Obituary of Jozef P. Makowski
Jozef P. Makowski Age: 86 * Green Brook, NJ Green Brook, NJ -Jozef P. Makowski, 86, passed away on February 20, 2023 at JFK Medical Center in Edison, NJ. Born in Poland to the late Mikolaj and Rosalia. Jozef immigrated to the United States of America, traveling through New Orleans in January 1950 and settling in South Carolina. He then moved his family to New Jersey; where they resided in Piscataway before settling in Green Brook in 1996. A machinist by trade, Jozef retired from Sterling Machinery in Edison, NJ. He also worked side jobs painting commercially and residentially. A proud, standing and active member of the Polish Falcons Nest 281, where he helped build their establishment and also belonged to the billiards team. Above all things, family meant the world to him and his pride and joy were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his siblings; Anthony, Chester, and Jadwiga, Jozef leaves behind his two sons; Richard and his wife Rosemary of Kansas and Edward and his wife Mary of South Plainfield. He will be missed dearly by his twin sister, Josephine Dombrowski, and by his grandchildren; Julie and her husband Kevin, Matthew and his wife Beth, Amanda and her husband Josh, Meghan and her fiancé Nicholas and Allianna and his great-grandchildren; Rhys, Andrew, Luke and Noah. Visitation will be held at Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846 on Friday, February 24, 2023 from 5:00pm until 9:00pm and on Saturday, February 25, 2023 beginning at 8:45am until 9:15am. Funeral services will begin 9:15am in the funeral home on a Saturday, February 25, 2023 followed by a 10:00am funeral Mass at St. Bernard of Clairvaux & St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Plainfield. Burial will follow at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway.
