Obituary of Bruce J. Bertucci
Bruce Bertucci passed away on 05 Feb 2025. The long-time member of Raritan Yacht Club gained much from the experiences shared with his fellow members, but more importantly cherished what membership allowed him to give rather than to take.
The former evolutionary biology instructor at South Plainfield High School and adjunct professor at Seton Hall University carried his goal of creating illusions of reality that are closer to the truth beyond the classroom and on to the waterways of the Hudson, Raritan and Shark Rivers. His enthusiastic support for youth sailing and racing is still alive and growing on the Raritan River Watershed near the railroad bridge in Perth Amboy where various high school teams practice and race.
Bruce left his beloved spouse of 55 years, Virginia Bertucci, his son, Scott and his spouse Sara as well as his granddaughter. He’s also survived by his sister Rosanne Lattanzi and brother in law Bob; his niece, Kathy her husband Brian and three grand nieces.
A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2025 from 2-4PM in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield NJ 07080.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to a local youth outreach organization of your choosing.
