

Obituary of Cesiah Ramos
Kindred, FL – Cesiah (Melendez) Ramos, 84, passed away on February 20, 2025 at AdventHealth Hospital in Kissimmee. Born in Ceiba, Puerto Rico to the late Jesus and Catalina (Estrada) Melendez, at the age of eighteen, Nelly moved to Paterson, NJ. She has lived in Jersey City and Edison for over thirty years and after her retirement in 2018, she settled down to Kissimmee.
Nelly started her career in Childhood Development but later changed her occupation where she worked as a Fiber Optic Technician for twenty-five years. She belonged to Iglesia Pentecostal Betel AIC located in Perth Amboy.
Nelly loved to read and write poetry and short stories, often about her family and Christian Beliefs. She formerly taught children’s bible study.
Predeceased by her daughter Abigail Galan, formerly of Edison, Nelly leaves behind her husband of sixty-two years, Silfredo Ramos and their son Silfredo Jr. and his wife Elinel of Paterson and grandchildren; Matthew of NC, Joshua of Manhattan, NY, Kayla of NC, and Felipe and Daniel Galan of Edison. Nelly will be missed by her brother Wilson and Nelson Melendez, sisters’ Irma Costello and Iris and Lucy Diaz as well as several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may gather at McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 0080 on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 from 4pm until 9pm and on Thursday, March 6, 2025 beginning 11:00am.
Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11:30am on Thursday followed by burial at Hillside Cemetery in Scotch Plains.
