Born and raised in Perth Amboy to the late Edward and Viola (Reid) Hanley, Bill was a devoted member of his community. He attended Perth Amboy's schools and later pursued his passion for electronics at Rets Electronic School. Bill had a zest for life and was known for his adventurous spirit. He cherished the outdoors, whether it was boating and water skiing on Raritan Bay in the summer or tobogganing with friends during the winter months. He was honorably discharged after his service.
Upon returning home, Bill and Nancy settled in South Plainfield, where they planted roots and raised their two daughters, Michelle and Christine. Bill embarked on a new career with a local company, now known as Air Liquide, dedicating 40 years of service and rising to the position of Supervisor of Gas prior to his retirement in 2012.
Bill found great joy in his home life, nurturing his love for gardening and creating cherished memories with his five beloved grandchildren—Tessa, Isabella, Olivia, William, and Charlotte. He was known for his warmth and unwavering support for his family.
