Joseph J. Raiello, 93 passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon, March 16, 2025 at home.

A lifelong resident of Plainfield, Joseph settled in South Plainfield in 1991 with his beloved late wife, Claire.

Joseph proudly served with the United States Army during the Korean War.  After his honorable discharge in 1953, Joseph soon began working at Westinghouse, later known as Frigidaire, in the shipping department. In 2003, Joseph retired after 49 years of service.

During his retirement years, Joseph enjoyed the time he spent at the South Plainfield Senior Center, participating in bus trips to Atlantic City, playing bingo, and being a member of their traveling pool team. Joseph also enjoyed bowling, horseshoes, and fixing things around the house. At the end of the day, he will be remembered as a devoted grandfather to his three grandsons and a loving father and husband.

Predeceased by his wife Claire Raiello; surviving are his two children, Patti Jo Urban and husband William and Joseph Raiello and wife Mary. He will also be missed by his three grandsons, Thomas, Christopher, and Timothy.

Family and friends may gather on Thursday, March 20, 2025, from 11:30am to 12:30pm in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080, a prayer service will begin at 12:30pm.

Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Plainfield.
