Jiries George

August 30, 1934 – April 12, 2025

With profound sadness, we share the passing of Jiries George on April 12, 2025. Born on August 30, 1934 to Abed Jaghab and Miriam Kasis, Jiries's life was a testament to love, resilience, and generosity.

Jiries was the beloved husband of Julia George, and together they built a beautiful family. He was the cherished father of Mary, Hala, Ghada, Norma, Jeanette, and Lisa. His legacy continues through his nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life.

His zest for life was evident in his love for singing, dancing, and living each day to the fullest. His famous “Joking, talking, spackle it and caulk it, after it dries, paint it” will forever echo in our hearts, bringing smiles and fond memories.

The visitation to celebrate Jiries’s remarkable life will be held at McCriskin Home for Funerals on Tuesday April 15, 2025 from 6pm-9pm, with funeral service to follow on Wednesday, April 16th, at 10am at St. Stephen’s The Protomartyr Antiochian Orthodox Church 609 Lane Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080

Immediately following the church service Jiries will be laid to rest alongside his beloved wife Julia at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains, NJ.

Jiries George’s legacy of love, hard work, and joy will forever be cherished by all who knew him. His spirit lives on in the hearts of his loved ones, and his memory will be a guiding light for generations to come.
