Olga Smith Obituary

Olga Smith, 94, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Brightwater Assisted Living, in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Born in Munich Germany to the late Roman and Theresa Tiefenbacher, Olga spent her early days in Germany, before meeting Arthur Smith, a US Soldier stationed in Germany. The two fell in love, married in Germany, and settled in Plainfield, NJ, Arthur’s hometown, in 1953.

In Germany, Olga attended Beauty School, but was not able to complete the program due to the war. While in the United States, she worked various factory jobs, including in the Revlon factory, always looking for a way to help provide for her and Arthur.

Over the years she enjoyed traveling to Atlantic City to visit the casinos. Most of all she lived a happy life, in a happy marriage that lasted 55 years.

Funeral services will be held at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens, US Highway 1 North, Woodbridge, NJ, on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 11 AM.

Entombment will follow the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Plainfield Area Humane Society, in Olga's name.
