Piscataway, NJ – Leonard G. Mundy, 81, passed away after a brief illness on April 19, 2025 at RWJ University Hospital in New Brunswick.  Born in Perth Amboy to the late Leonard V. and Lillian (Zavorsky) Mundy, Lenny grew up in Woodbridge and moved to Piscataway in the 1970’s.

Lenny served proudly in the United States Army as a SP5 during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in October of 1971.  Lenny worked for the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Department and retired in 1997.  He enjoyed fishing, taking his wife Michelle’s 1965 Mustang to car shows but above all things; he loved to spend time with family.

Lenny had a love for animals and could often be found taking care of them.  He belonged to the Metuchen American Legion Post 65 and could often be found visiting his friends at the Middlesex American Legion Post #306 and the Middlesex Elks #1488.

Predeceased by his wife Michelle in October of 2024, and by his son Todd in May of 2017, Lenny leaves behind his loving daughter Valerie of Piscataway, cousins Barbara Zavorsky and Peter Anessi as well as several extended family members and friends.

Visitation for Lenny will be held on Monday, April 28, 2025 from 10am until 12pm at Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway, NJ 08854.  Burial along with military honors will follow in the family plot of Alpine Cemetery in Perth Amboy.
