

Obituary of Maureen McMahon
New Hope, PA – Maureen (Brannagan) McMahon, 86, passed away at Doylestown Hospital in Doylestown, PA on April 22, 2025. Born in Newark, NJ to the late Edward F. and Anna (Mangan) Brannagan, Maureen resided in Newark, Hillside and Elizabeth prior to settling in South Plainfield to raise her family with her husband Gene. Shortly after retirement, Maureen and Gene moved to the Village of Buckingham Springs in New Hope.
Maureen started her career with NJ Bell, and then worked at Abraham & Strauss as a sales clerk. She retired from Muhlenberg Hospital in Plainfield and upon moving to New Hope, she became a volunteer with Doylestown Hospital.
A longtime parishioner of St. Martin of Tours in New Hope, she was active as a Eucharistic Minister and assisted with the ironing of all the church linens. While living in NJ, she belonged to the Sacred Heart Altar Rosary Society and in her earlier years, was a PTA President.
Maureen’s life revolved around her faith and spending time with family and her many friends. She enjoyed knitting, especially afghans for her family and friends. She loved traveling with her husband (especially on cruises) and taking bus trips to the casinos. She could often be found at the Bucks County YMCA where she would enjoy aqua aerobics and chair classes. Her grandchildren were a source of great joy and pride.
Predeceased by her beloved husband of 65 years, Eugene T. and son Eugene E., Maureen is survived by her children; KellyAnn Bozzi and her husband David of Florham Park, NJ and Michael McMahon and his wife Adrienne of Califon, NJ; her grandchildren; Sean and Daniella Bozzi of Charlotte, NC and Corinne and Andrew Lyons of New York, NY, as well as her siblings; Edward “Bud” Brannagan and his wife Kathy of Toms River, NJ and Joseph Brannagan and his wife Nancy of Clark, NJ.
Services will begin at 10:30am with visitation on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at St. Martin of Tours Church, 1 Riverstone Circle, New Hope, PA 18938 followed by a 11:30am funeral mass celebrating Maureen’s life. At the request of the McMahon family, burial at Holy Redeemer Cemetery will be held privately.
