Obituary of Fernando Dos Santos Moreira
Fernando Dos Santos Moreira, 61 passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2025 at JFK Medical Center
in Edison.
Born in Portugal, Fernando came to the United States at the age of 7 residing in Newark, NJ. He
then lived in North Arlington, Kearny and South Plainfield for many years before recently
relocating to Scotch Plains.
An avid fan of hockey and soccer, Fernando loved the NJ Devils, Portuguese men’s soccer team,
Benfica, word search puzzles and card games, especially uno.
Fernando loved food and would try anything once, if he didn’t like it he would just ask to not
make it again.
He is predeceased by his parents, Maria and Manuel, and by his siblings Pedro, Albino, Sao and
Rita
Surviving are his wife, Debra of Iselin; son, Robert and his wife Sara of Piscataway; sisters,
Victoria Pinhancos and her husband Antonio of Hillside and Emilia Couto of Cranford and
brother, Antonio Cruz.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Friday, June 13, 2025 from 5-8pm in
the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals 2425 Plainfield Ave. South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
Cremation services will be held privately.
