Beloved Daughter, Sister, Friend, and Community Member

Ann Alcaro, 66, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ.

Born in Newark, NJ, Ann was raised in South Plainfield before settling in Piscataway, where she lived for over 30 years. A passionate and lifelong reader, Ann was known to travel near and far in search of book fairs and sales. She was an avid cross stitcher and Scrabble player, both of which she enjoyed with her friends at “Stitch and Bitch” and “Scrabble and Babble” sessions.

Ann also had a love for the arts and was a longtime participant in community theater. She was at one time a member of The Adirondack Luge Club in Lake Placid, New York, showing her adventurous side.

Ann supported many causes close to her heart, including the Plainfield Area Humane Society (now Hope 4 Paws Humane Society), The Wounded Warrior Project and various food banks throughout Middlesex County.

She is predeceased by her father, Gerard Alcaro, and is survived by her loving mother, Catherine Alcaro of South Plainfield, NJ, and her brother, Mark Alcaro of Allentown, PA. Ann also leaves behind a large extended family and many cherished friends who will miss her warmth, humor, and compassionate heart.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ann’s memory may be made to the Hope 4 Paws Humane Society at https://hope4pawshs.org, continuing her legacy of kindness and care for animals in need.
