Obituary of Irene K. Zigmund

Irene K. Zigmund, 99, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2025 at The Elms of Cranbury Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.

Born in Kearney NJ, Irene Grew up in Kearney and resided in Piscataway for 67 years.

She enjoyed her husband and children above all else. Irene took day trips with the kids, fishing for Don and horseback riding for Diane. Irene was an avid reader, she enjoyed knitting and crocheting, especially beautiful baby blankets that were given as gifts.

Irene was employed by Amerchol in Edison, and stayed with the company until it was merged with Union Carbide, and she retired. She loved her little Schipperke dogs and missed them greatly during her final years.

Predeceased by her husband Adam, Mrs. Zigmund is survived by her daughter, Diane Zerns and her husband Jerry of Pemberton; son, Donald Zigmund and his fiancé Josephine of Cranbury and grandchildren, Andrea Richardson and her husband Paul of Virgina, and Adam Zigmund and his wife Leah in the Poconos. Irene has two great grandchildren, Colby and Alifair.

Irene was laid to rest alongside her husband Adam at Resurrection Burial Park privately and the funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Piscataway Funeral Home 18 Stelton Rd. Piscataway, NJ 08854.
