Obituary of David Mark Tuttle

Please share a memory of David to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

David M. “Dave” Tuttle, 62, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital – New Brunswick.

Born and raised in Kearny, NJ, to David F. and Nancy Tuttle, Dave was a graduate of Kearny High School. He lived in Kearny, and then Lyndhurst, and then returned to Kearny for a short time. Eventually, Dave settled in Scotch Plains with his wife, Christine, and her five children. In 1994, they moved to Dunellen, where they have resided since.

After taking a printing shop class in high school, Dave decided to pursue the same career as his father as a pressman. At age 18, he started as an operator at Wheel Grace in Kearny. He moved to different printing companies in New Jersey, while learning and working his way up to pressman. For the last 30 years, Dave worked at Capital Printing Corp. in Middlesex.

Outside of work, he was an avid New Jersey Devils fan. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR, the Raiders, and the Mets. He loved camping at Sun Air Campground in Jefferson Township, where he first met his wife. Dave had a passion for grilling. Whether it was four people or 40 people, he could be found at the grill, with a Bud Light in hand. His second favorite holiday was the 4th of July (Halloween, of course, being his favorite!), which started with annual trips to Pennsylvania with his sons for fireworks. He loved all the vacations, especially the cruises, with his wife and their best friends, Mike and Donna. Above all else, he cherished his time spent with his children, grandchildren, and most of all, his wife, doing anything and everything to make her happy.

Dave will be deeply missed by his wife, Christine (née Lyons) Tuttle; mother, Nancy Tuttle; father, David F. Tuttle and his wife Joan; and children, Anne Marie Lyons, Richard E. Zaleski and his wife Claudia, Alexander J. Zaleski and his wife Elizabeth, Mark S. Zaleski and his wife Brittany, Brandon M. Tuttle, David R. Zaleski and his wife Jamie, and Christina M. Tuttle. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Amberly, Chaney, Leah, Brooke, Lucien, Gabriella, Madison, Odin, Giuliana, Jaxon, Mia, Liberty, Ethan, Aurora, Samuel, and one baby girl due in July 2025. And his sister, Gayle Kelly and her husband Kevin, along with a host of extended relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held at the Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ, on Thursday, June 26, 2025, from 4 PM to 8 PM.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, 600 Harris Avenue, Middlesex, NJ, on Friday, June 27, 2025, at 10:30 AM. Family and friends are invited to gather at the funeral home prior to mass, beginning 9:15 AM.

After the mass, cremation services will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, the Tuttle family has requested that donations be made to either Our Lady of Mount Virgin Church, 600 Harris Avenue, Middlesex, NJ, 08846, or to the Wounded Warrior Project, in David’s name.
