South Plainfield – Carol Norma Nolty, 92, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Complete Care in Plainfield.
Born in Newark and raised, Carol was one of nine and loved being a part of a big family. She married the late Richard Nolty in the mid 1950’s and the pair settled to South Plainfield where they raised their five sons.
A hardworking woman, Carol dedicated her life to her family and her career. She worked as a waitress, in the bakery department at BJs, and with Dow Chemical until her retirement. She enjoyed taking trips to Atlantic City and Bethlehem casinos, playing the lottery, and sharing her love with her family through crocheting blankets and playing cards. An avid reader, she also enjoyed watching her soap operas, and working on a puzzle. Especially while listening to the timeless melodies of Frank Sinatra.
Predeceased by her husband who passed in October of 2011, Richard Nolty, Sr., and six siblings; Carol is survived by her five sons, Daniel Nolty and wife Karen Robinson; Michael Nolty, Richard Nolty Jr. and wife Elizabeth, Peter Nolty and David Nolty; siblings, Grace Sadowski and Richard Steele and wife Patty.
She will also be missed by her two grandchildren, Patrick and his wife Alexis and Caitlin and her fiancé Ryan.
Family and friends may gather on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield from 5PM – 7PM.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025 beginning at 10:30AM, family and friends may begin gathering in the funeral home at 10AM.
Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains.
