It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Karol Wojewodka, age 20, who left this world far too soon on July 22, 2025. Though his time with us was brief, the impact he made will last a lifetime.
Born on April 18, 2005 in Brooklyn, NY, Karol was known for his radiant smile, contagious laughter, and the way he could light up any room just by walking in. Yet, Karol’s warmth was matched by his courage. He never hesitated to speak up for others or stand firm for what was right. Whether lending a hand to a family member, comforting a friend, or sharing a joke to brighten someone’s day, Karol lived with a kind heart and a selfless spirit, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him.
From a young age, Karol’s passion for sports shone brightly, particularly on the soccer field, where he played for the South Plainfield travel soccer teams, Express and Force. His dedication and teamwork helped lead his teams to numerous tournament victories and awards, achievements he always cherished with pride. In high school, Karol expanded his athletic pursuits, joining the South Plainfield cross country team, where he embraced the challenge of running with the same enthusiasm and spirit he brought to soccer.
A true helper by nature, Karol dreamed of becoming a state trooper one day and was two years away from completing his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice at Rutgers University to make that dream come true. Although he would say it was for the badge and uniform, those closest to him know it was for the opportunity to protect, serve, and make a difference in the lives of others. He was driven, determined, and deeply committed to doing well in the world.
He is survived by his loving parents, Teresa and Krzysztof, his older brother, Dominic, his beloved dog, Mila, his grandparents, and many cousins, aunts, uncles, friends, and loved ones who will forever cherish his memory. His departure leaves an unfillable void in many lives and although we grieve the loss of a son, brother, cousin, nephew, and friend, we celebrate the joy he brought and hold on to the endless memories of love and laughter.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service to honor Karol’s life on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 from 4-8pm in the McCriskin – Gustafson home for Funerals 2425 Plainfield Ave. South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
The funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at 10am at St. Bernard of Clairvaux and St. Stanislaus of Kostka RC Church, 368 Sumner Ave. Plainfield, NJ 07062.
Immediately following mass, Karol’s cremated remains will be placed to rest at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains, NJ.
Karol may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts. We will carry his laughter, his smile, and his dream to make the world better with us always.
