Obituary of Marion J Heisler
Please share a memory of Marion to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
South Plainfield – Marion J. Heisler, 82, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, August 14, 2025 surrounded by the love of her family.
Born in Newark, Marion spent her early years in Edison before making South Plainfield her lifelong home, where she raised her five children. She spent several happy years in retirement with her husband Bill in their dream custom built log home in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania before returning to South Plainfield to be closer to family and friends.
Marion was a dedicated employee of A&P Supermarket, where she worked as the deli manager for many years. Her creative spirit shone through her hobbies—she enjoyed knitting, sewing, and baking delicious goods for all to enjoy. She also loved honey bees, gardening, Elvis, as well as all sorts of crafting, and most of all she cherished all the time spent with loved ones around her.
Marion’s warmth, kindness, and unwavering love touched everyone she met. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all whose lives she enriched.
Predeceased by her parents, Emmett and Dorothy (Kiefer) Schieder, brother, Robert Schieder and his partner, Robert “Steve" Citranelli; surviving are her husband of 63 years, William “Bill” Heisler; five children, William and Tracey Heisler, Jr., Monica Heisler – Cusick, Brad and Renee Heisler, Wayne and Lisa Heisler, Erika Heisler and Cheech Rivera; sixteen grandchildren, six great grand children and the many others that called her mom.
She will also be missed by lifelong friend Marie Armstrong (the sister she never had) and a host of extended family and friends.
A celebration of Marion’s Life will be held at a later date for all.
