Obituary of Amalia Reyes De Lopez

Piscataway – Amalia Reyes De Lopez, 77, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday evening, August 17, 2025. Born and raised in Guatemala City, Amalia immigrated to the United States in 1993 initially to Middlesex ultimately settling in Piscataway. Amalia had a passion for cooking traditional Guatemalan dishes, which she loved to prepare for her family and friends. Her warmth, kindness, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Predeceased by her husband, Victor Lopez – Lopez and a son, Victor Rafael, surviving are her daughter Nidia Gatica and her husband Hugo of Piscataway, daughter Sayra Gonzalez of North Plainfield, son Erwin Lopez and his wife Claudia of Piscataway, daughter Claudia Lopez-Reyes and her husband Jose Rodriguez of Piscataway and her grandchildren; Victor, Jhonattan, Wilson, Hugo A., Estuardo, Sergio and Sabrina and great granddaughter, Victoria. A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2025 from 4-7PM in the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, August 25, 2025 at Our Lady of Fatima RC Church in Piscataway with burial to follow at Resurrection Burial Park, family and friends may gather in the funeral home prior to mass at 9:15AM.
