Obituary of Carol Squindo

Carol J. Squindo, 73, passed away peacefully with her family members by her side on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Community Medical Center in Toms River, New Jersey.
Born in Plainfield to Frank and Helen Colvin, Carol grew up and had resided in South Plainfield before settling to Manchester in 2010.
Carol worked alongside her parents, brother, niece and nephew, at the former Panel-Oven Engineering Company in South Plainfield. As a dedicated and reliable presence, she took great pride in her role and the work they accomplished together.
She enjoyed a fulfilling life, spending time boating, gardening, and caring for her beloved cats, dogs and “critters”. She loved to travel, spent much of her time at the Jersey Shore bay house, as well as, trips to the Poconos and Atlantic City. She also spoke highly of a very memorable trip to Italy. Above all, she cherished her role as a loving aunt, sister, daughter and wife. She was lovingly referred to as “Auntie” a title in which she held the highest importance.
Predeceased by her parents, her husband of almost 25 years, Frank and her brother, Frank Colvin Jr. Carol is survived by her nieces; Kim Born and her husband Wendell, Shannon Kistner and her husband Ralph, Megan Rydell and her husband Chris, and her nephew, Frank Colvin and his wife JoAnne.
She will also be deeply missed by her brother-in-law Tom Squindo and his wife Theresa; sister-in-law Karen Colvin; and great nieces and nephews, Taylor, Chris, Deleaney, Julia, Lauren, Frankie, Antonio, Reyden, Nicholas and Sienna along with a host of extended relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held at McCriskin – Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ, on Monday, August 25, 2025, from 4 PM to 7 PM.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at 11 AM, family and friends are invited to gather in the funeral home beginning at 10 AM.
Burial will take place at Hillside Cemetery, 1401 Woodland Ave, Scotch Plains, NJ alongside her husband Frank.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the Plainfield Area Humane Society.
