He honorably served for six years, 13 months of which were spent deployed to Vietnam. While deployed, he would transport documents form Saigon back to his home base, in the United States. In 1974, Joseph was honorably discharged.

Upon receiving his degree in Accounting, He began working for Evonik Industries, a chemical plant in Piscataway, as an Accountant, and remained here until his retirement, after 43 years.

Joseph was actively involved in helping plan High School Reunions, serving as the Treasurer, and was a member of the South Plainfield American Legion.

Above all, Joseph not only lived a good life, he built one for his family. Something they will always remember, and be forever grateful for.
