Howard D. Blendinger, III Obituary

Middlesex – Howard D. Blendinger, III, 83, passed away Saturday Morning, August 30, 2025 at his home.

Born in Plainfield, Howard grew up in South Plainfield. He graduated from South Plainfield High School in 1960.

Howard proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, demonstrating courage and dedication. Following his honorable discharge, he worked many years as a printer for the Courier News, retiring in 2007. While working at the Courier News he met his beloved wife, Carolyn Mittermeier. They married in 1968 and settled into Middlesex Borough where they raised their two children.

A passionate car enthusiast, Howard took great pride in his 1927 Ford Model T, earning numerous ribbons and trophies at local shows. His true joy, however, was his family—especially his six cherished grandchildren, who brought endless happiness and pride to his life. He also loved taking care of his dog, Bailey, who was his little buddy.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Carolyn Blendinger; two children, Christian Blendinger and wife Tammy, Melissa Fitzgibbon and husband Kevin, and six cherished grandchildren, Dylan, Austin, Megan, Kristen, Tanner and Nicole, and a sister, Marie Jump, in Kentucky.

Funeral services are private and under the direction of the Middlesex Funeral Home.
