Obituary of Margaret Kuhn

Margaret V. Kuhn of Somerset, NJ, passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2025, at St. Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. She was 100 years old. A lifelong resident of New Jersey, Margaret was born in Newark, NJ, on January 2, 1925, to Matthew and Emma Ackerman. She was one of 8 children. Margaret grew up in Hillside, NJ. Margaret married Thomas C. Kuhn Sr. on September 7, 1946. They raised their family of 3 in Hillside and Willingboro, NJ. The family’s final move was to Somerset in 1966. Margaret was an avid reader. She was active in the Franklin Township Senior Citizen Group for many years. She was a communicant at St. Matthias Parish in Somerset since 1966. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Thomas (2015) and by 5 of her siblings: 1 sister, Johanna (Ackerman) Kafka and 4 brothers: Matthew, Joseph, James and John Ackerman. She is survived by 3 children: Patricia (Kuhn) Benson and son-in-law, James, of Middlesex; Jacqueline (Kuhn) Parsons of New Hampshire; Thomas C. Kuhn Jr. of Somerset. She is also survived by her loving granddaughter, Caroline Benson, of Middlesex. Her 2 surviving sisters are Theresa (Ackerman) Moeller and Catherine (Ackerman) Georgetti. Visitation will be held from 2-5 PM on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at the Middlesex Funeral Home on 528 Bound Brook Rd., Middlesex, NJ 08846. A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Virgin Church on Monday, September 8, 2025. Entombment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society of Our Lady of Mt. Virgin Church, 600 Harris Avenue, Middlesex, NJ 08846.
