Obituary of Marilyn A DeGirolamo

Marilyn A. DeGirolamo, 69, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at her home in Piscataway.
Born to the late Linda and Mario Rizzolo, Marilyn spent her early years in West Orange and Oakhurst before settling in Piscataway, where she has resided for the last 39 years.
Through the years, Marilyn has serves as a book keeper, but most recently, as a guide for the deaf and blind, through the SSP-NJ, Support Service Providers of New Jersey, and the Personal Assistance Services Program.
Marilyn was a member of the Evangel Church of Scotch Plains as well as the deaf church. She enjoyed going to the Piscataway Senior Center, where she took part in the various activities available and going to lunches. She also did tae kwon do, loved to swim, and designed and made her own wedding dress, although she did not use these skills later in life. She had a true passion for sign language, which lead her to take the career path she did, as well attend the church services for the deaf.
Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Nicole DeGirolamo, and brothers, Richard and Lawrence Rizzolo. She will also be missed by a host of extended relatives and friends.
Cremation services will be held privately under the care of Piscataway Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held at a later date, details of which will be provided by family members.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Association of the DeafBlind, in Marilyn’s name.
