Obituary of Geraldine Monahan
Geraldine Monahan, 91, of Middlesex, NJ passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Geraldine was born in Summit, NJ on July 21, 1934 to Charles and Anna Louise Nunzello. She was employed by National Seed Company in New Brunswick, NJ.
A true fixture in Middlesex, NJ, Geraldine lived a fiercely independent life. Known for her strong and feisty nature, she believed her longevity was attributed to her passion for working hard and keeping herself busy. She created lasting memories by meticulously decorating for every holiday and preparing her famous Christmas lasagna, a tradition her family will carry on each year. Above all, Geraldine’s greatest joy was the love and care she gave to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Geraldine loved tending to a variety of plants and flowers. She also enjoyed going on senior trips, especially to Wind Creek Casino in Bethlehem, PA. A devout NY Yankees fan, she watched games until her last day. Aaron Judge, her favorite player, surely would have been proud.
Geraldine was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert (1987). She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Lahaski, and her son, Robert J. Monahan. Geraldine was an adoring grandmother to Lisa (Lahaski) Rumain and her husband, Brian, and to Paul Lahaski and his wife, Lilliam, as well as a loving great-grandmother to Aidan, Madeline, and Mia Rumain.
