Obituary of Steven David Romano
Steven (Steve) D. Romano, 64, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 21st, 2025.
Steve was born on December 28th, 1960 in Somerville, NJ, to Nick Romano and Anna Belica. Steven has been a lifelong resident of Middlesex Borough. He was a graduate of Middlesex County Votech program, attending both the New Brunswick and Piscataway campuses. Following school, he began his career with Schifano Construction, in Middlesex, where he has been a loyal employee for many years.
Outside of work, Steven enjoyed working on anything with a motor, especially his motorcycles, and he had a knack for sewing and upholstery.
Above all else, he enjoyed helping others. He was always sure to extend a helping hand to those around him, a trait he will always be remembered for.
At the age of 53, Steve made a decision that would forever shape his life.
On November 22, 2014, he symbolized his dedication to Jehovah and was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Steve went from being known by some as ‘Rambo’ to being loved by many as ‘Brother Romano’. Steve found comfort and community with his brothers and sisters in the Piscataway congregation, and loved to share his bible based beliefs with his family, friends and neighbors.
Steven was preceded in death by his father, Nick Romano, and brother, Christopher Romano.
Steven is survived by his mother, Anna Belica; his son, Dominick Romano and his wife, Maricel; and his daughter, Marcella Romano. He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren, Christina, Nicole, Ethan, Mary Anna, Belica and Holden; Great grandchildren, Noah, Alex, Violet and Maximus; and his brothers Johnny and Michael, as well as a host of extended relatives and Friends.
A visitation will be held at the Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ, on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, from 5 PM to 9 PM.
Cremation services will be held privately.
