Kosta “Gus” Kokodis, 89, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025.
Born in Chios, Greece, in 1936, Kosta immigrated to the United States in the 1960s with his beloved wife, Irene. Together they built a loving home in New Jersey and raised their daughters, Alice Kokodis and Kali Heifetz.
He proudly ran K & K Painting in Woodbridge for many years, working tirelessly to provide for his family. Known for his kind heart, wit, and sense of humor, Kosta brought joy to everyone around him.
He loved drawing birds, sharing laughter with friends, and spending time with his family, who were the center of his life.
Kosta is survived by his wife of 57 years, daughters, and grandchildren, Emilia, Costi, Marcus, and Jacob. He also leaves behind his cherished childhood friends from Kalimasia with whom he always looked forward to spending summers with reminiscing about their youth.
Visitation will be held at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 41–47 Wisteria Street, Perth Amboy, NJ, on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, from 10–11 a.m., followed by a prayer service at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Clover Leaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge Township, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 41-47 Wisteria St, Perth Amboy, NJ.
