Obituary of Belen Bartolome Carluen
Belen Bartolome Carluen, 91, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love of her family on Wednesday, November 5, 2025.
Born in Caloocan, Philippines, immigrated to the United States in 1976 and initially resided in Bayonne. She settled to Piscataway Township in 1986. Once she was settled in the United States, Belen worked with Miller Wool in Secaucus as a clerk.
Belen admired the beauty of roses and orchids. She loved to bake and cook. Her grandchildren enjoyed her chicken mami and siopao, pancit luglog and bihon and her longanisa with tocino.
Predeceased by her husband who died in January 2012, Abelardo Bonoan Carluen, Jr.; surviving are her six children, Abelen Bautista and husband Pablo, Aleli C. Sabino, Alma B. Carluen, Annabelle B. Carluen, Arlene Pendon and husband Abraham and Abner Carluen and wife Eloisa.
She will also be missed by her twelve grandchildren, Abraham, Abigail, Paulo, Allyson, Therese, Ernest, Ashley, Albyn, Erwin, Alexis, Annalyn and Neal as well as her great grandchildren, Joshua, Mason, Dominic, Robert, Jonah, Gianna, Averie, Alaina, Sophia, Brielle, Sebastian and Ophelia.
A Visitation will be held at the South Plainfield Funeral Home, 2456 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ, on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 4 PM to 8 PM.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 10:30 AM in St. Frances Cabrini RC Church, 208 Bound Brook Avenue, Piscataway, NJ, followed by private cremation.
Belen will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, Abelardo in Rosedale Cemetery, Linden.
