Irene Newcott, 98, passed away on November 5, 2025, in St. Cloud, FL. 

Born in Eynon, Pennsylvania to John and Stella Budris, she moved to New Jersey in 1948 after marrying George Newcott.  She lived in South Plainfield for 65 years on Joan Street, where she is the last of the original “Joan Street Gang”, before moving to St. Cloud, FL with her three children and their families.  Irene was an active member of Sacred Heart Church before she moved to Florida in 2017.  Once settled in Florida, Irene became a communicant of, St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in St. Cloud, Florida.

She is predeceased by her loving husband, George; her brother, Andrew and sisters Mary and Stella.  Irene is survived by her three children, Elaine (Greg) Buehler, Karen (Roger) Knight and David (Wendy) Newcott; her beloved sister, Magdelen and numerous nieces and nephews.

She also leaves behind her seven grandchildren, Melissa Jackson, Derek Buehler, Jessica Alderman, Jacqueline Walsh, Jake Newcott, Beth Christiano and Rachel Dlugokienski; twelve great grandchildren, Houston, Lauryn, Jace, Eleanor, Brayden, Abby, Margaret, Mundo, Marcy, Angie, Reeve and Skylar and one on the way.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 16, 2025 at McCriskin -Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ from 4-6PM. 

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025 at 11AM in the funeral home.  Entombment will be held at the chapel at Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
