
Obituary of Joseph C. Cybulski
Piscataway – Joseph C. Cybulski, 71, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset, Somerville.
Born in Elizabeth, Joseph grew up in Newark and Avenel. He joined the Navy in 1972 and fought in the Vietnam War. He and his wife, Laurie lived in Rahway and Keasbey before settling in Piscataway in 1991, where they continued to raise their two kids. He was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1981. He worked in the accounting department for AT&T/ Bell Corp until his retirement. In addition to his full time job, he often worked different side jobs, such as umpiring various sports and DJing.
Joseph enjoyed watching and attending all sports from football to the Paralympics. In his younger years, Joseph played softball and was an avid bowler. As his children grew, enjoyed attending their games and practicing in the backyard. Joseph also did local theater in his 20’s with memorable roles in Godspell, Rainmaker and Fiddler on the Roof. As he got older, he enjoyed playing the stock market.
Predeceased by his beloved son, Josef Cybulski; surviving are his wife of 43 years, Laurie (nee Peterson) Cybulski and daughter, Kristine Cybulski. He will also be missed by his sister, Maureen Corrao; cousin Shane Owens and wife Cathy and their son William; brother in law, Rick Peterson and wife Karen; nieces, Kelly Howell and husband Gary and Beth Hoff and husband Michael; nephew, David Peterson and wife Holly and grand nieces and nephews.
At the request of the Cybulski Family, family and friends attending services are encouraged to wear their favorite sports team’s jersey or colors.
A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2025 in the Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway NJ 08854 from 4-8PM. Memorial services will begin at 7:30PM.
