Amy Cardinal, 47, passed away at home, surrounded by friends and family, on Monday, December 1, 2025 after a courageous battle with breast cancer.  

Born in Plainfield, Amy grew up in North Plainfield, South Plainfield and Edison as well as Central Florida and Roanoke, VA until ultimately settling in Dunellen, NJ.  

She graduated from Katherine Gibbs School and worked in customer service for most of her career. 

 Amy was a cherished friend who spread warmth and joy to all she knew. She shared countless memories filled with laughter, late-night talks and unwavering support. Amy’s radiant smile and genuine kindness touched everyone around her. Her spirit will live on in all of those who were fortunate enough to know her. 

She poured her heart into her children, her pride and joy. She had a plan for every Halloween costume and crazy hair day and loved to share her crock-pot recipes.  

Predeceased by her father Lynn Blackburn, Amy is survived by her children; Tiana Ruiz, Abigail Diem and Alexandra, Sadie, Landen and Vincent Cardinal; her mother, Dale Blackburn – McNair her sisters, Karen DeLauro and Laura Hess; ex-husband Robert Cardinal and stepsons Robert, Anthony and Joseph Cardinal.     

 All funeral services for Amy were privately entrusted to the McCriskin – Gustafson Family of Funeral Homes.
