Please share a memory of Benigno to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Benigno “Benny” Rivera, 63, of Perth Amboy, NJ, passed away suddenly on December 3, 2025. He was born on September 29, 1962, in New York City to the late Benigno and Elba Rivera.

Benny is survived by his wife, Yael Flores-Rivera; his children, Ashley and her husband, Derrick Johnson, Austin and his wife, Alyssa, and Joshua Rivera; and his cherished grandchildren, Devin, Landon, Hayden, Ariana, and Alejandro. He also leaves behind his brothers Robert, Richard, and Jesus.

Benny was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who took tremendous pride in his family. He loved his children deeply and lived in the moment, embracing life with a spirit that uplifted those around him. Known for his strong work ethic and generosity—often generous to a fault—he was both dependable and selfless. Benny’s love of dancing, his joy in cooking for others, and his natural warmth made him a pleasure to be around. A great friend to many, he formed bonds that lasted a lifetime, always bringing a sense of ease, humor, and genuine care to every gathering. A loyal New York Yankees fan, he followed his team with enthusiasm and passion.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway, NJ. Following the visitation, the family will gather privately for his cremation.

Benny will be remembered with affection, gratitude, and deep respect by his family and all whose lives he touched.
