
Obituary of John P. Kayser
Middlesex – John P. Kayser, 76, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2025 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset in Somerville.
Born in Teaneck, John and his wife, Arlene (Lynch) resided in Jersey City before settling to Middlesex Borough in 1986 where they proudly raised their three children. He worked as an accountant for Ebasco in New York City, which was located within 2 World Trade Center.
John was a passionate community advocate, generously giving his time to youth sports and local organizations. He spent many seasons refereeing basketball games and umpiring baseball and softball games. As a former President of the Middlesex Little League, he contributed greatly to youth athletics volunteering with the Special Olympics, and was also a proud former Elk of Lodge 2298. He will also be remembered as a devoted New York Giants Fan.
Predeceased by his two siblings, he is survived by his wife of 52 years, Arlene Kayser; three children, John Kayser and wife Alyssa, Deana Gilbert and husband Aaron and Megan Appello. He will also be missed by his seven cherished grandchildren, Madison, Hannah, Finn, Avery, Nate, Noah and Jack.
Family and friends may gather on Monday, December 8, 2025 in the Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex NJ 08854 from 4-7PM.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at 10:30AM in Our Lady of Mount Virgin RC Church, Middlesex, family and friends may gather in the funeral home at 9:30AM prior to mass.
John will be entombed privately.
