I met Renee for the first time 54 years ago when I was desperately looking for child care for my 1 yr old son. From the moment I entered the kitchen I fell head over heels in love with Renee and her family. Patrick, who was coming home from football practice, helmet in hand, and Annie who was off to Kindergarten. The home was pure joy and love with kids and laughter and my son cried when he had to leave the Buckley's. I not only had a excellent person to care for my baby but all her children and Eddie adopted him. There were long gabs with cups of tea and in spite of the kids, activities and chatter there always was a feeling of peace and love and being welcomed. I loved Renee and her wonderful family and the love and care they provided John and Aimee. Please know that Renee was a model mother, friend and she always was there for me. As long as I live Renee will be in my heart and prayers. My deepest sympathy on the loss of this gentle lady. Mary Lou Casavant

I first met Renee when we moved into Greenbriar, and from the very beginning, she made it feel like home. She was not only a wonderful friend, but the kind of neighbor everyone hopes to have. Her presence next door brought comfort and a sense of safety, and it meant so much to always see a friendly, caring face nearby.
Renee had a way of making people feel welcome and at ease. I am so grateful to have known her and to have shared that time together. Meeting her was a true gift, and having her as a neighbor and friend will always be something I cherish.

Aunty Renee is my mother's oldest sister. Her life story is an education for me about Irish social history during the twentieth century and more importantly about Christian life and love. I have fond memories of greeting and saying goodbye to her and Uncle Ed at Shannon Airport and family gatherings in Cork also with my cousins Theresa, Ann Margaret, Pat, Paul and Ken for the important occasions in life. Renee was a strong woman who cared to dream. May she rest in peace with those who went before her.

To my cousins, Pat, Paul, Theresa, Ken & Ann, I offer my sympathies on the loss of your mother Renee. I have many fond memories of Renee, the most prominent being: bearing witness to her generosity towards the people of her community in New Jersey when I visited in 1999; the other being that she gave me my first driving lesson, as a 15 year old, on the same trip. Her patience that day has always stayed with me!
Warmly & with love,
Michael Brennan.

Dearest cousins Pat, Paul, Theresa, Ken, Ann and the Buckley family,
We are so very sorry to learn of Aunty Renee’s passing. As children, we always loved to hear stories from Granny Burke about her stays with you all in New Jersey! We loved when you would come ‘home’ and I have many memories of time spent with Aunty Renee, her gentle nature and interest in others. We are thinking about you all and sending our love.
Lots of love, Catherine and the boys (Mary’s daughter).

Dear Theresa, Ann, Pat, Paul, Ken and extended Buckley family,
Our deepest sympathies to you all at this sad time. Your Mum was such a kind and gentle person and I truly enjoyed any time I spent with her and your family. I have some great memories over the years of your parent’s visits to Cork, my few visits to New Jersey, especially the summer after my J-1 in 1987, and their visit to San Francisco with Paul and family in 1999. Her love for family was clearly a priority.
She will be missed by so many, may she rest in peace.
You are in our prayers,
Lia, Eoin, Kate, Tara and Gavin

While we may have been separated by an ocean, Aunty Renee held a very special place in the hearts of her Cork family as the eldest of the Burke children. My Mum, Olive, often spoke of her selfless kindness and generosity toward others, and I remember fondly her many trips home.
My deepest condolences to all of my cousins at this difficult time.
May she rest in peace.

I’m so sorry to hear about the passing of Aunt Renee. I will always remember her visits to Cork, how much her siblings loved being with their big sister, and the special family occasions when she and Uncle Eddie flew over from the States. My sincere condolences to all her family, and I’m thinking especially of the Hunzikers at this time. We’ve shared many fond memories of Renee with them during our recent catch-ups.

“Go mbeidh na h-Aingeail sna Flaithís ag fanacht le Renee” is an old Irish blessing which translates to say “May the angels in Heaven be waiting for dearest Renee”.
Our deepest sympathies, at this sad time, go out to our friend Ben Burke, Ontario, Canada on the loss of his dear sister Renee and indeed to the entire Burke and extended Buckley families on the passing of a beloved grandmother, mother and sister. You all (including sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, nephews and nieces) have lost a very, very special person in your lives. We pray that Renee now rest in peace; forever at God’s right hand.
While death leaves a heart ache that no one can heal, it is also true that love leaves a memory that no one can steal so may your fond memories of Renee continue to bless you and may her Irish eyes shine as brightly in heaven as they did here on earth. Suaimhneas síoraí dá h'anam dílis.

I met Nora at Sunrise Senior Living right around St Patrick Day. So appropriate. She made an immediate impact on me as I was able to share the Eucharist with her over the last 9+ months of her life. She truly loved her family. Loved life. Loved Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She is already missed by all especially her family.
If anyone has ever received a Golden Ticket to sit at the Right Hand of the Lord - Nora has it!! May she rest in peace.
Thank you Nora for so many great faith sharing moments in so short a time frame. Love. Peace. Tom

Renee, as we all called her, on Brigantine, was from the time I met her in 2009, a petite powerhouse of energy. Always out walking (with almost a sprint in her steps) always running out to get the neighbors trash cans, always a smile with something nice to say, and best of all…always sharing her famous Irish soda bread.
Always to be remembered.
