Nora A. "Renee" Buckley, 91, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, December 29, 2025, at the Center for Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains.

Born in County Cork, Ireland to John and Ellen Burke, Nora met the love of her life, Edward Buckley, at a dance hall, fell in love, and they quickly started a family together. In the 1950s, they emigrated by boat from Ireland settling in the Bronx. As their family grew, Nora and Ed relocated to South Plainfield, NJ with their five children. Nora was loyal to her family and faith, always exemplified by her selflessness and generosity to friends and strangers alike.

After many years of devotion to her family, Nora and Ed retired to Waretown, NJ almost 20 years ago, where she continued to enjoy her passions of sewing, gardening, baking, puzzles, and bringing joy and warmth to her children and many grandchildren. She remained committed to her faith and church community as a Eucharistic Minister.

Predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Ed, and son-in-law, William Hunziker; surviving her are her five children, Patrick Buckley and wife Dawn, Paul Buckley and wife Tracy, Theresa Hunziker, Kenneth Buckley and Maryann Solomon, and Ann Guerra and husband Greg, thirteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren; six loving siblings, Ann Canty, Eileen Hennessy, Michael Burke, Mary Brennan, Benedict Burke, and Olive O’Sullivan; and her many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation held atMcCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 on Sunday, January 4, 2026, from 1-5 pm.
