Growing up, you were the tita who was always traveling and who showed up with new stories to tell and new things to share with us. I'll always remember you introducing Kas and me to the romance novels and those classic movies: the Thorn Birds, Gone with the Wind, Dr. Zhivago... and to going to the city to watch Broadway shows like Miss Saigon... to sharing your tried and true recipes: the banana bread, chocolate brownie with walnuts, salmon with crab meat... to traveling with us on road trips and for taking us to Italy.
Thank you for always being present in our lives no matter the distance and for always celebrating us. For being straight forward with me even if it's something I didn't want to hear. For being there for the good times and the hard times, especially when mom was sick.
Thank you for coming over to help me in my first months of being a mom and for spending time with Gavin. Having you and Kas be there and being patient with me while I was navigating thru motherhood was everything.
... It's hard to accept that I'll never hear you say "hi sweetheart!", which was always accompanied with your big smile that reminded me of Julia Roberts', but at least you're not in pain anymore. Continue to watch over us and your apappuhs. I'll carry you with me wherever I go. Love you always, Tita Fay.
