My late sister, Denise Gargano, was a neighbor to the MacDonald's for many, many years and she couldn't have asked for better. Through her I met them and realized early on what good people they are. The two families' friendship has endured all this time and only death could stop it.
People like Mike, and his wife, do not come along too often. He was will be missed here on earth but I can just imagine him and my sister up there in heaven discussing family and current events. I am sure they are looking down on us and smiling.

I had the privilege of knowing Michael thru his wife Megan. Mike was usually quiet but when he spoke, everyone listened. He also had a great sense of humor!
While he was passionate about his hobbies (ham radio & geocaching) his greatest affection was to his wife Megan and his children. While his memory will be a blessing his influence on the people he knew will be his greatest legacy.

I will never forget Mike for his friendship, humor and discussions on current events and technology. I will miss his physical presence but will here his laugh and comments to the end of my days.
Met Mike on the CB back in the early 80’s while Mike worked as a security system installer. We both shared radio as a hobby. Mike had been preparing to obtain his Amateur Radio License, while I already had one. We both joined Metuchen Radio Club and did a field day(Emergency Prep Drill) together, as newbies to the event. We both upgraded our license classes following this and began la friendship with other hams in the Piscataway area. This led to the group of us creating the Piscataway Amateur Radio Club. We spent many years with this organization and enjoyed many Field Day events while also helping others expand their hobby. Although Mike had not operated in a few years, understand he was getting back into operating his Amateur Radio Equipment again.
Little later in life, I was working at Dialogic in Parsippany, NJ and needed a reliable person to help build up a test lab and had Mike apply, leading to his hire. Mike was a conscientious employee and always looking for ways to improve, not being afraid to learn and try new things. This mindset and ability continued to help mike grow in the company and migrate from Test into Software Configuration and finally the IT team where he worked until Intel broke up the company in the early 2000’s. During his time in System Test, the team of 12 to 15 folk enjoyed Mike’s character and his ability to keep laughing through difficult efforts.
Mike was a fun person, always laughing and pointing out funny situations. Although his health did not always make it easy for him to get out, he continued to live his life with Megan and do what he liked.
It would not be appropriate to end comments about Mike and leave out his favorite saying, “Everything is Crap!” This was not a negative statement, but more of an acknowledgement that nothing always works perfect, and you have to go with the flow.

I have many fond memories of Mike MacDonald. Mike and Megan and Chuck and I went out to eat on Fridays. Chimney Rock Inn was our favorite place to eat. We would go there for pizza almost every Friday.
Mike and Chuck got along very well. We were always laughing and enjoying ourselves, Mike had a great sense of humor.
Rest in peace Mike you will always have a special place in my heart!!!

I met Mac on the CB radio. He was an intelligent, polite and fun to be around man. He was the kind of friend that I wish I knew longer than the 25+ years I did know him. I always valued his opinion and knowledge. I'm going to miss him more than words can say.

Mike and his sister Nan were part of our lives from early years of playing in the yard and eating too many mulberries. When my sister Megan started dating Mike, I was a young teenager. I remember him on his motorcycle, coming to pick her up. He was a quiet, introspective man who had a calming influence on many. He and his sister Nan were family. So many memories, too many to list. May all the good memories provide Megan comfort. Mike will not be forgotten.

Dear Mike's Family,
I was saddened to hear about the passing of Mike, a wonderful neighbor and a familiar face in our community. I have many memories of seeing him taking a break out on the front porch.
I had the pleasure of stopping by to chat with Mike on several occasions, and each time. We often shared some excitement while discussing past bike rides, and occasionally, we talked about our individual past technical careers.
Mike will be greatly missed by all who knew him, and I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to know him, even if only in a small way. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.

Simply put, a wonderful man. Even tempered, and extremely sociable. Although I hadn’t seen Mike in recent years, I thought of him often. There were only good memories of Mike MacDonald, who dearly loved and adored his loving wife Megan. I hope to see you on the other side Mike, if indeed there actually is one. You are most deserving of your seat in Heaven. Adieu’, old friend!

I will always remember the many after-work hours we spent together at the Y—side by side, pushing through workouts, sharing laughs, and solving the world’s problems between sets. Those routines were about so much more than exercise; they were about friendship, consistency, and showing up for each other. I miss those days more than I can say. Life gets busy, time moves on, but those moments remain some of my fondest memories. Mike was a true friend, a steady presence, and someone who made the journey better just by being there. I’ll carry those memories with me always, and he will never be forgotten.
We are so very sorry for your loss, please extend our condolences to your family.

My husband and I never got to know Mike as well as we would have liked because he was so ill when Megan and I became caregiving “sisters.”
But he had to have been an amazing human being and husband to trigger such all-consuming, selfless love, devotion and compassion from Megan.
She is my inspiration. Their love is our inspiration.
