Obituary of Patricia A. McCreesh

Patricia (Pat) A. McCreesh, 80, passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at her home in Manahawkin, New Jersey.

Born and raised in Downtown Jersey City, Pat relocated to Middlesex in 1971, where she devoted many years to raising her family and enjoying time with her children and grandchildren, before relocating in 2020 to Manahawkin.

Pat was very active in her residential community at Atlantic Hills, where she proudly served as the most recent president of the HOA Board. She greatly enjoyed playing poker and mahjong with the many friends she made there. She was also a proud member of the Manahawkin B.P.O.E. Lodge #2340.

Pat was a devoted mother and loving grandmother, affectionately known as “Grammy”, who truly cherished spending quality time with her family. She had a bright and joyful personality, a wonderful sense of humor, and the most contagious laugh, one that will be deeply missed by all who knew her. No one could tell a story quite like Pat; her theatrics and big smile brought every moment to life. By the end of any story, whether happy or sad, she always had everyone laughing. Her love, strength, passion, and unwavering support carried her family through many times. 

Pat’s love for her sweet dog, Murphy, brings us comfort as we know she now rests peacefully, reunited with him.

She was predeceased by her beloved son, Roger T. McCreesh Jr., and by all of her siblings.

Surviving are her daughter, Kelli Geist of Middlesex; her grandchildren, Marissa Geist-Bogart and her husband Jeff, Matthew Geist, and Kaitlyn McCreesh-Cain and her husband Josh; and her former husband, but dear friend, Roger T. McCreesh Sr. of Whiting.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 18, 2026, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., with a funeral service beginning at 4:30 p.m., at the Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex, NJ 08846.

Following Pat's private cremation, her cremated remains will be placed to rest in the family niche at Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway.
