Obituary of Barbara Ann Flemen

Barbara Ann Flemen, 78, of Piscataway, NJ, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026 in Somerset, NJ. She was born on November 3, 1947, in Elizabeth, NJ, to the late Edward and Veronica Lodzinski.

Barbara was the beloved wife of the late Robert Flemen, who predeceased her in 1996. She was a devoted and loving mother to her daughter, Sharon Marie Mateo and her husband John, and to her son, Robert Flemen and his wife Michelle. Barbara took great joy in her role as a grandmother and is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Michael, Anthony, Juliana, and Alyssa.

She is also survived by her siblings, Lorraine Phillips and her husband Charles, Walter, Edward and Bernard, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss her.

Barbara was a dedicated homemaker who lovingly cared for her family throughout her life. She was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Piscataway, where she especially enjoyed participating in parish bingo. At home, she found great comfort and companionship in her cherished Shih Tzu, Lil’ Bit, whom she adored.

Family and friends are invited to attend a wake on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 10 am to 12 pm at the Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway, NJ. A Prayer Service will be celebrated at the funeral home at 12pm. Interment will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery in Colonia, New Jersey.

Barbara’s family would like to invite their family and friends to a repast after the burial services at Angelina’s Tavern 2501 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield NJ 07080 from 2-4pm.
