Obituary of Katherine Anne Colapietro

Katherine Anne Colapietro, 83, passed away Saturday, January 31 2026 at home in Manahawkin.

Born and raised in Plainfield, Kathie resided in Piscataway for over 40 years raising her children. After the tragic loss of her husband, James in 1996, Kathie settled to the Jersey Shore area, residing in Manahawkin for the last 15 years.

While her children were attending the Piscataway Schools, she was active with the Piscataway Superchief  Marching Band as well as the Piscataway Little League. She enjoyed spending summers at Number 6 Ocean on Midway Beach. She also enjoyed spending time at “Keansburger" Amusement Park and Manahawkin Lake with her grandchildren. She was an avid reader and a cat lover.

Predeceased by her husband, James Colapietro; sister, June Hamshar and granddaughter, Karli Rose Colapietro; surviving are her three children, James Colapietro and wife Tracy, Catherine Colapietro and David Colapietro and wife Katie. She will also be missed by her six grandchildren, James “JT” and his fiancé Hailey, Alec, Luke, Jake, Eliana and Elise.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026 in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield NJ 07080 from 5-9PM.

Family and friends may gather on Friday, February 6, 2026 at 11AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Lake Nelson Memorial Park, Piscataway.
