Obituary of Mary Ann Richards

Mary Ann Richards, age 81, of Piscataway, NJ, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, Mary Ann was the daughter of Henry and Sophie Kozikowski. Her life was defined by her caring nature, kindness, and unwavering generosity. For over 40 years, she and her husband, Tom Richards, whom she married in 1967, built a beautiful life and home in High Bridge, NJ.

Mary Ann enjoyed a long and dedicated career in banking, working with Citizens Bank and Hunterdon County Trust before retiring from PNC Bank in Annandale, NJ. Outside of work, she found great joy in the simple pleasures of life: tending to her vegetable garden, settling in with the Sunday paper for the crossword puzzles, and getting lost in a good book.

A devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Mary Ann’s family was the true center of her world. Her legacy of love and the values she instilled will live on in all who knew her.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Tom; her sons and daughters-in-law, Chuck and Liz, and Craig and Glynne; her cherished grandchildren, Amanda and Troy, Tyler, Chase, and Tanner; her great-granddaughter, Ivy; and her sisters, Julie and Barbara. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Sophie; her in-laws, Chic and Alma; and her sister, Carol.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 14th, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Piscataway Funeral Home, located at 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway, NJ 08854.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Mary Ann’s memory to the Best Friends Animal Society or the American Cancer Society, organizations that held a special place in her heart.
