James H. Pelton died on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at the Bridgeway Care Center in Bridgewater.
Born in Rahway, Mr. Pelton grew up in Westfield and then settled to South Plainfield.
Jim was the Director of Employee Relations for Tetley Inc in Linden and Morris Plains and retired in 1991.
A veteran of the US Army, Mr. Pelton was an avid sports fan and enjoyed following the NY Rangers, Yankees and Giants as well as the South Plainfield sporting programs.
He was also an enthusiastic reader and loved spending time at the shore.
Jim is predeceased by his twin brother Kenneth and is survived by his wife Rose Marie Pelton; daughter, Courtenay Butler and her husband Patrick of Millington; son, Jeffrey of Bridgewater and his two grandchildren, Shannon and Tommy Butler.
Cremations Services were held privately and a funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 11am at Our Lady of Czestochowa RC Church, South Plainfield.
