Please share a memory of Lawrence to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Lawrence Boncere Bailey was born on July 14, 1938 in Westmoreland, Jamaica. He was the son of the late Princess Nethersole and the late Arthur Bailey, and he transitioned from this life to his eternal home on Thursday, September 1, 2016. Larry was one of eight children born to his mother Princess. He attended Carmel Primary School and Carmel Moravian Church in Westmoreland, Jamaica. He joined the Jamaica Defense Force when he was a teenager and served for several years. He also acted as a percussionist for the Army. Larry married Beverly Hunter in 1961 and had four children. He lived with his family in Kingston, Jamaica for several years before emigrating to the United States in 1977. In 1999, Larry married Ann Ebanks. He spent the last years of his life caring for his beloved wife, despite his own illness. Larry will be remembered for his love of life, his delightful sense of humor and his love of family and friends. He believed in the love and closeness of family and he emphasized this often in his last days. The memories we have of our beloved Larry will always be dear to our hearts. He joins his siblings Gerald Mair and Desmond Nethersole and his sister Pauline Nethersole (Mitchell) in eternal peace. Larry is survived by his wife Ann Bailey, his son Larry Bailey Jr., his daughters Debra Simms, Sandra Bailey-Hargroves, Michelle Bailey-Stewart, and Tanya Fagan, his ex-wife Beverly Bailey, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his brothers Jim Stewart, Vivian Nethersole, Eustace Nethersole, and Flavian Nethersole, his adopted daughter Beverly Anderson, his step-daughters, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and other family members and friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 11, 2016 from 2-4 pm in the McCriskin-Gustfson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080.
