Obituary of Charles Francis Dawson

Charles Francis Dawson, 86, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2017.
Born in Newark to the late William and Anna Dawson, he was raised in Irvington, and went on to marry Marion Nagy, in 1952. Charles and Marion settled in Edison where they raised their family. Charles was a former tool and die maker with General Motors, before working as the maintenance manager at Rotor Clip Company in Somerset, retiring in 2008. He and his wife were devout parishioners of St. Helena R.C. Church in Edison. Charles enjoyed bowling, woodworking, and golf, most of all, he enjoyed the quality time spent with his family.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, George, Kenneth, Robert, and Edward Dawson.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Marion Dawson, his loving children, Diane McDaniels and husband William, Charles Dawson and wife Brigitte, and Richard Dawson and wife Christine, his cherished grandchildren, Autumn, Noah, Kyle, Lucas, Elisabeth Morgades and husband Javier, Susanne, Emma, Grace, Abigail, and John"Jack", and his great grandson, Mateo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30AM on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at St. Helena R.C. Church, 950 Grove Avenue, Edison. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, South Plainfield.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Dawson's memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105
