South Plainfield - Wayne C. Vogel, 68, died Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at Haven Hospice in JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born to the late George and Arlene (Stager) in New Brunswick, Wayne was raised in the city until settling to South Plainfield nearly 45 years ago. A honorably discharged veteran of the United States Navy, Wayne served our country during the Vietnam War. After the Navy, Wayne worked for Middlesex ShopRite, Coca-Cola Bottling Co. of NY in Rutherford prior to retiring from Kellogg's Company in 2010. A die-hard Vikings fan and animal lover, Wayne enjoyed golfing, and listening to Doo Wop music. Surviving are his wife, Janice (Gorman) of South Plainfield; daughter, Jacqueline Wasitowski and husband Kenneth of Ringoes; son, Todd and wife Rosalyn Tubal-Vogel of South Plainfield; sister, Cynthia Ashby of Florida and three grandchildren, Ashlee Garcia, Brandon Wasitowski and Kira Vogel. Wayne will also be missed by his two cats, Socks and Frankie. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 4, at 11AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by interment in Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Family and friends may attend visitation on Sunday from 2-7 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Haven Hospice c/o JFK Medical Center, 65 James St., Edison, NJ 08820 or NJ Veterans Memorial, Menlo Park, 132 Evergreen Road, Edison NJ 08818
