Obituary of Martha Harris

Martha "Marti" Harris, nee Demetre, 91, of Middlesex, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2018 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset in Somerville. Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA to the late George and Helen Demetre, she went on to marry the late Angelo Harris in 1948 and was a former resident of Bound Brook before settling in Middlesex in 1960 where they raised their family. Mrs. Harris was an avid tennis fan and enjoyed playing when she was able. She enjoyed reading, had a talent for sewing, and most of all, she enjoyed the quality time spent with her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Angelo in 1995. Surviving are her loving children, John Harris and wife Karen, Joseph Harris and wife Kimberly, Elaine Murawski and husband John, and Christopher Harris and wife Cindi, her cherished grandchildren Jesse, Keira, Joseph, Justin and wife Lauren, and Brandon. Family and friends are welcome to gather from 6:00 to 8:00pm on Monday, April 2, 2018 at the Middlesex Funeral Home, 528 Bound Brook Road, Middlesex. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 1101 River Rd, Piscataway. Interment will follow at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge.
