Obituary of John A. Bertucci

Edison - John A. Bertucci, 90, died Tuesday, January 19, 2015 at JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born in Piscataway, John settled in Edison in 1961. John is an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Army where he served in the First Calvary during WWII in Japan and the Philippines. He was the owner and operator of Demco Electric Company in Plainfield for over 50 years prior to his retirement. A parishioner of Sacred Heart RC Church in South Plainfield, John was a member of the Plainfield's UNICO Chapter, the former Plainfield Lions Club, and was a former member of the South Plainfield Italian American Club. In addition Mr. Bertucci was also a member of the NJ Horse Racing Association. He is predeceased by 10 siblings and is survived by loving his wife of 65 years, Grace (Butrico); two daughters, Joanne Bertucci Semon and her husband Howard and Suzanne Bertucci Ciccarelli; his sister, Grace Venditti; four grandchildren, Joli, Howard John, Kristin, and Michael John. Also surviving are five great grandchildren, Mason John, Lucy, Landon, Theo and Nate. Funeral services will begin on Friday, January 22, 2016 at 9:15AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home For Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by a 10AM funeral mass at Our Lady of Czestochowa RC Church, South Plainfield. Interment will follow in Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, January 21, 2016 from 4-8PM in the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the NJ Veterans Home at Menlo Park, 132 Evergreen Rd., Edison, NJ 08818 ATTN: Marcha Lasko
