Minnie Cates, 72, passed away March 31, 2014 at home. Born in Charleston, South Carolina, she moved to Piscataway in 1959 and resided there until recently moving to Dunellen. Minnie was formerly employed with Johnson and Johnson in New Brunswick where she worked for over 20 years.She was predeceased by her son Ricardo. Surviving are her loving mother Janie Smith of Easton, PA; her children Lisa Orphanos of Dunellen and Marvin Nixon of Alabama; her siblings Josephine, Adolphus, Carmen, Clarissa and Vincent; her grandchildren Chantel, Brendon and Shani and her great-grandchildren Joshia and Geliah.A memorial service will be held on Friday from 2:00 to 3:00 pm at the Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Rd., Piscataway, NJ 08854.
