Obituary of Anna Malloy

Flemington - Anna (Szfranski) Malloy, 90, of Clinton, NJ died Wednesday, March 16, 2016. She is predeceased in death by her husband of 30 years, John P. Malloy, who died in 1979. She is also predeceased by her three brothers Edward, Zigmond and John Jr. Mrs. Malloy was born in Jersey City and resided in the City until her marriage. Mr. Malloy was a chemical engineer and the family lived in Brooklyn, but relocated for his work to the states of Washington and soon after Virginia, before settling to South Plainfield. Mrs. Malloy worked as an Executive Secretary for the Englehard Corporation before her retirement in 1988, when she moved to Clinton, NJ to live closer to her daughter and grandchildren. She was a former member of Sacred Heart Church and a member of St. Catherine of Sienna Church, in Pittstown, NJ. Surviving are a son, Peter Malloy and his wife Patricia of Woodbridge and a daughter Joanne McCluskey and her husband Daniel of Jutland NJ. She also had two grandchildren with whom she was very close, Christine McCluskey of Manchester, CT and Patrick McCluskey of Hasbrouck Heights, NJ. Also surviving are her sisters, Jean Locke and her husband Robert of Glastonbury, CT and Sophie Hill of Windham, CT. Funeral services will begin on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 8:45AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield NJ 07080 followed by a funeral mass in Our Lady of Czestochowa RC Church at 9:30AM. Family and friends may attend visitation on Friday from 4-8PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory can be made to the Red Mill Museum, 56 Main Street, Clinton, NJ 08809 where she enjoyed volunteering there for many years with the friends of the Red Mill.
