Obituary of Erna Nowicki

South Plainfield, NJ - Erna (Eisenhuth) Nowicki, 88, lovingly known as OMA, passed away at her home on Thursday, May 18, 2017. Born in Solingen, Germany to her late parents Franz and Maria (Kurowski) Eisenhuth, Erna immigrated to the United States in 1951, settling to her current home in South Plainfield. She worked on the assembly line for RCA Coproration located in Raritan. After her retirement, she enjoyed spending time at her grandchildren's sporting events and taking trips to Atlantic City with the seniors. Her favorite hobbies were word puzzles, board games and making her famous pancakes that were known throughout the neighborhood. Predeceased by her husband Stanislaw; three siblings and son-in-law, Gregory, Erna leaves behind her loving family; children, Brigitte Nowicki-Yefko of South Plainfield, Stanley Nowicki and his wife Cathy of Pennsylvania and June Wiggett of Warren County; six grandchildren, Gregory and Kenneth, Jennifer, Lisa and Anthony and Jessica; eight great-grandchildren and several family members in Germany. Visitation will be held in McCriskin-Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue, South Plainfield, NJ 07080 on Sunday, May 21, 2017 from 2-5 pm and on Monday, May 22, 2017 from 9:30 am until 10:00 am. Erna will be laid to rest beside her husband at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in South Plainfield.
