Obituary of Roman "Ray" Horomanski

Roman "Ray" Horomanski, 93, passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Cumberland Crossings in Carlisle, PA. Born in Pittsfield, MA., Ray grew up in Newark and settled to South Plainfield in 1957, moving to Carlisle, PA in 2014. A Veteran of WWII , he served with the U.S. Navy as an Aviation Metalsmith Third Class and for many years Mr. Horomanski worked for Western Electric in Kearny as an Engineer, retiring in 1985. An avid baseball fan, Ray excelled at the game. His talent even landed him a try out for the Brooklyn Dodgers. He is predeceased by his brother Gene Hermanski. Surviving are his wife Jane (Jankowski), his daughter Carol Cox and her husband Paul of Mechanicsburg, PA., his son Bruce Horomanski of Plainsboro his grandson Stephen Horomanski, and his wife Fran Mattis, and 2 Great Grandchildren, Nathan and Owen. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 10:45AM in the McCriskin - Gustafson Home for Funerals 2425 Plainfield Ave., South Plainfield, NJ 07080 followed by an 11:30AM funeral mass at Sacred Heart RC Church, South Plainfield. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 from 3-7PM in the funeral home.
